In the previous post I suggested that Ben Austin had the quote of the day. Well, that was before I spotted this doozy from the editors of the New York Times, "There is no evidence that the White House is being dishonest."The editorial concerns the huge disparity between administration claims that most of the Gulf oil spill has ("Poof!") disappeared and subsequent reports from independent scientists, including Science magazine's description of an underwater oil plume the size of Manhattan.
And even though the Times desperately wants to provide cover for Team Obama , the editorial will make for very uncomfortable reading at the White House today.
