LA Can't Afford Cops & Firefighers. But a $578 Million High School? No Problem.

My nod for quote of the day comes from this AP story (via the Drudge Report) on LA's $578 million high school building.

Says Ben Austin, executive director of Parent Revolution, "New buildings are nice, but when they're run by the same people who've given us a 50% dropout rate, they're a big waste of taxpayer money. Parents aren't fooled."
