Friday Tea Break (Swing Classics)

We have a lovely snow falling here in northwest Omaha -- lovely, in part, because it's not sticking at all and will soon be over.

I'm drinking the last of this pot of tea and getting ready to leave off blogging and get on to another project; namely, the selecting, editing, naming and filing of photographs for "When Swing Was King," our outreach in the nursing homes and assisted living facilities. In fact, I'll be working on that project into the night -- unless the postman delivers our order of Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers DVDs. Then I'll make sure Claire and I (and maybe Claire Nicole) will watch one of those later tonight.

But until then, and because I haven't posted a Wednesday Tea Break for quite awhile, here's three clips for a special Friday version. These are three songs that all appear in various volumes of "When Swing Was King." Enjoy.

1) Artie Shaw Orchestra (vocals by Helen Forrest) -- "All the Things You Are."

2) Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra (vocals by Bob Eberly and Helen O'Connell) -- "Tangerine"

3) Benny Goodman Quartet -- "Moonglow"
