The New York City Council is the latest government body going bonkers in its abortion advocacy as they propose legislation against pro-life pregnancy centers. The City Council thus serves (quite openly, even proudly) as the handmaiden to NARAL and the abortion profiteers in the city.The new rules would require the pro-life CPCs to post on their walls, their brochures and their websites that they do not perform abortions. Such rules are, of course, are unconstitutional as well as unfair. What other businesses are required to advertise what they do not provide?
Indeed, in the case of Planned Parenthood and other abortionists, there have been numerous revelations of their lies to clients (Lila Rose and her team have a shelf full of videotapes) and of deliberate obfuscation of intensely relevant information -- not revealing to their clients the scientific findings of fetal development, fetal pain, post-abortion trauma, severe complications for the mother's health following the abortion, and so on.
Where is the City Council in correcting those terrible abuses of women's trust?
The Wall Street Journal reports:
To demonstrate support for the legislation, NARAL Pro-Choice New York Foundation and the National Institute for Reproductive Health, organizations that support abortion rights, will release Tuesday a report exposing what they call the "lies, manipulations and privacy violations" of these centers.
The groups sent women pretending to be pregnant to the centers, and they received misinformation and experienced scare tactics, the report says. At one center in Queens, a woman was falsely told abortion could cause breast cancer, and there was literature there asking, "Is it really necessary to kill your baby?" the report says.
NARAL thinks it has some kind of coup because they report that a CPC counselor refers to the breast cancer/abortion link. So do many scientists in the field. And NARAL is shocked that a CPC counselor refers to abortion as killing a baby and asks about other ways in which the CPC can help the woman avoid such a terrible sin. That's truth coupled with mercy. That's what is called genuine ministry. And CPC's do this every day -- prayerfully, conscientiously and completely free of charge.
No wonder the likes of NARAL and Planned Parenthood can't understand them.
Indeed, NARAL's thrill in their "discoveries" only emphasizes the underhanded, sleazy tactics of the abortion centers; that is, Planned Parenthood and its ilk do everything they can to ignore the truth that a real, live human baby is killed in every abortion AND that they do not counsel the client about any other alternatives except that baby's extermination.
No, it is the abortionists who are guilty of dealing in lies and deception. It is the abortionists who are pulling down huge profits from peddling abortion. And it is the abortionists who should be subject to the strict scrutiny of government.
And that, of course, would be the case in a saner, more humane America.
Pray for justice. Pray for the pro-life CPCs under attack by the evil one. And pray that the sinister thugs of NARAL and Planned Parenthood don't end pulling your City Council by the nose like they are here in NYC.
