Quick Hits

* Yet another development that TEAM Obama is feeling queasy about is Senator Arlen Specter (formerly a longtime RINO who finally "got honest" and joined the Democrat Party) being in "a world of trouble" as he tries to win a sixth term next year. Only 23% of registered voters support him. That's the lowest his approval ratings have ever been.

* The Washington Times reports on some very expensive cronyism from our selfless, pure and idealistic President, "High-dollar fundraisers have been promised access to senior White House officials in exchange for pledges to donate $30,400 personally or to bundle $300,000 in contributions ahead of the 2010 midterm elections, according to internal Democratic National Committee documents obtained by The Washington Times.

One top donor described in an interview with The Times being given a birthday visit to the Oval Office. Another was allowed use of a White House-complex bowling alley for his family. Bundlers closest to the president were invited to watch a movie in the red-walled theater in the basement of the presidential mansion."

* Barack Obama, as "sensitive" to criticism as was another Chicago celebrity, Al Capone, has sent forth one of his minions (U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder) to get a TV ad killed because it criticizes his opposition to a popular scholarship program for poor children in the District of Columbia.

* "New Yorkers are fleeing the state and city in alarming numbers -- and costing a fortune in lost tax dollars, a new study shows. More than 1.5 million state residents left for other parts of the United States from 2000 to 2008, according to the report from the Empire Center for New York State Policy. It was the biggest out-of-state migration in the country.

The vast majority of the migrants, 1.1 million, were former residents of New York City -- meaning one out of seven city taxpayers moved out. "The Empire State is being drained of an invaluable resource -- people," the report said.

What's worse is that the families fleeing New York are being replaced by lower-income newcomers, who consequently pay less in taxes."...
