Hamas Leader Endorses Obama

It's an endorsement that's going to cause a lot of embarrassment for the Democrats (if it gets any substantial press treatment) but Ahmed Yousef, the chief political adviser of Hamas, has told WABC radio that the terrorist group hopes Barack Obama becomes the U.S. president.

In the interview (audio here), Yousef suggests that American politics requires Democrats to only act as if they're friends of Israel in order to get elected. But that Hamas expects them to move towards the "moderate, mainstream" Islamic voice that Yousef claims Hamas represents. (The accompanying photo shows a few of those Hamas "moderates.")

Also from the interview, “We don’t mind–actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will win the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance.” Yousef also expresses his hope that Obama will meet with Hamas representatives soon.
