Carter Pays Homage to Arafat

Arrogantly defying the advice from both Washington and Tel Aviv, giving a hug to a Hamas leader, somberly laying a wreath at the grave of one of the most notorious terrorists of all time -- it's all in a days work for Jimmy Carter.

Here's the story.

But then who looks to Jimmy Carter anymore for anything but the crassest, most inane political stunts, especially given his predilection for thugs and terrorists? Case in point -- over the weekend, Mr. Carter explained to the Wall Street Journal his preference for a dictatorship over a democracy.

"In a democracy, I realize you don't need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels. When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that's the dictator, because he speaks for all the people."

A dictator speaks for all the people?

Somebody please persuade this guy to go back to Georgia. Tell him to tend the peanuts, teach the Sunday School, hunt those cursed water-going rabbits...anything that will keep him pleasantly busy and out of the world's hair.
