Our Persecuted Brethren

Two weeks ago, Magos Solomon Semere, a Christian from Eritrea, died from physical torture and pneumonia in the Adi-Nefase Militant Confinement facility just outside Assab... Two days later Indian Pastor Goda Israel left home for a prayer meeting and failed to return. Three days later, his body was found with stab wounds in a canal near his home in the village of Pedapallparru, Andhra Pradesh...

These are just two of the tragedies reflecting the ongoing persecution of the Church around the world. And, of course, many, many other acts of violence and injustice go unreported because of the power of anti-Christian governments.

All Christians have a duty to their brothers and sisters who must endure such persecution -- a duty that includes fervent prayers and whatever direct actions of support and assistance that can be provided.

As we have emphasized here before, one of the organizations that can be of immense help in this regard is Voice of the Martyrs. At their web page, they offer the latest news of the suffering Church but also provide ways to relevantly respond.
