After returning last night from our traditional election watch hosted by John and Barb Malek -- a gathering that also included Chet Thomas, Allen and Cindy Nelson, Kurt Oyer, Michelle Sullivan, Matt Troutman, Quint and Carol Coppi -- I wrote out these comments on my Facebook page:A great night marred only by the general spin of the networks (even somewhat by Fox) that tended to downplay the huge significance of the Republican wins. Obama agenda repudiated -- and how!
Here's some perspective on the night -- Consider your feelings two years ago when it seemed that radical leftist Barack Obama had not just won an election but launched a whole new era. Did you ever dream that just two years later you would see a catastrophic defeat of that Obama agenda?
Yes, there's certainly been a great deal of damage done to our nation and there's a lot of repair work in front of us. But that grand socialist era, that wave that we thought might create a whole new political and social landscape...well, that is over.
This was an extremely important night -- a great new start for liberty and responsibility and genuine reform.
