Most of these old video clips can hardly compare to MTV quality. (Did I just pair MTV and "quality" in the same sentence? What was I thinking?)
Nevertheless, these old clips do have virtues all their own -- virtues like charm, innocence, romance and music of incomparable genius. So here are three live versions of my favorite upbeat love songs from that great era: The Toy's with "A Lover's Concerto," Petula Clark singing "My Love" to a very appreciative audience and Jr. Walker and the All -Stars doing a terrific job with "What Does it Take?"
If you can listen to these songs and not feel a thrill, check your pulse.
