The Answer to Chicago's Cop Shortage? Just Lower the Standards.

Here's a frightening story which reveals the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of affirmative action as well as the utter failure of the Left's handling of the courts, law enforcement and education.

The story is about the Chicago Police Department (already operating at 2,000 officers-a-day short of its authorized strength -- sure makes you want to conduct your company's convention anywhere but the Windy City, doesn't it?) and their decision to find more cops by...get this...eliminating altogether the police entrance exam!

Apparently the CPD believes that scrapping the exam would increase minority hiring, avoid legal battles and charges of discrimination, and bulk up their force with new recruits.

The only price to pay would be, well... running one of America's largest cities with dumber, lazier, and less athletic cops.

And they say that Democrats can't come up with practical solutions.
