NFL quarterback Tom Brady (noted previously as a deadbeat dad who didn't bother to marry his child's mother, actress Bridget Moynahan) finally decided to marry somebody.
But the bride, Brazilian "supermodel" Gisele Bundchen, seems to have a thing about the paparazzi. Check out the story from the Boston Globe.
Two freelance photographers who snapped pics of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's weekend wedding in Costa Rica say they were shot at by the supermodel's security personnel.
INF, the photo agency that hired Rolando Aviles and Uri Cortez, said yesterday the two men "narrowly escaped death" when bullets shattered the back windshield of the duo's Suzuki jeep then hit the vehicle's front window. "Nobody was hurt, but it was very close," an INF spokesman told us today.
Brady and Bundchen got married Saturday at the Brazilian beauty's seaside compound in Mal Pais. (The pair also got hitched at a Catholic church in Santa Monica Feb. 28.) Guests this weekend included family, friends, and Patriots owners Robert and Myra Kraft. The trouble apparently began as the two photographers were returning to their car after using long lenses to shoot pics of the nuptials. The snappers were then confronted by security and "frogmarched" to the Brazilian beauty's villa, where they were asked to turn over their film, according to INF. (Gisele, it seems, has an exclusive picture deal with a Brazilian magazine.) The men refused and, trailed by security, ran back to their jeep.
"As they started the engine, a live round pierced the back windshield...and hit the front windshield directly between the two mens' heads," according to a post at INF's blog. Cortez said he was shocked. "I couldn't believe it when I realized what they had done," he told the photo agency. "I could have lost my life for the sake of some pictures that Gisele didn't want published. Are they insane?"
Police in Mal Pais are investigating but it's not clear yets if anyone will be charged in connection with the shooting...
