A Sign of the Times

I was sitting in the doctor's office where I had just brought my mother for an appointment when one of the young girls behind the desk took a personal phone call. She was an attractive, sweet-looking young girl of about 22 and she had been very helpful a few minutes earlier in answering my questions about Mom's new insurance status.

But innocent-looking isn't innocent.

For in that phone call, loudly and unabashedly shared with everyone in the small waiting room, the young girl described (to her landlord) her excuses and attempts at placation for damage done to a downstairs neighbor's apartment the previous evening by her "boyfriend slash roommate."

I couldn't help but think of the dread so frequently shared by modern liberals that the privacy of their bedrooms might be violated by conservatives. And yet it is through decadent television, movies, popular music...and even doctor's waiting rooms...that moderns are forcing their bedroom activities on us!
