Trial Scheduled for Man Accused of Chemical Abortion Homicide

A businessman accused of slipping his girlfriend an abortion pill and causing her to have two miscarriages is expected to be in court today in Appleton.

Manishkumar M. Patel left the county jail over the weekend after authorities say he posted his $750,000 cash bond.

The 34-year-old Appleton man was charged last week with attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child for allegedly putting the drug in the woman's drink, among other charges.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Outagamie County Circuit Court on all nine charges.
