Vietnam's Human Rights Abuses Continue While Washington Turns a Blind Eye

Human rights abuses in Vietnam have, of course, been terrible ever since the United States abandoned the nation to Communism in the early 1970's. However, the situation has worsened -- even though the State Department has given Vietnam favorable treatment.

Richard Land (at right), representing both the Southern Baptists and the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, vigorously protested this sad state of government in a Congressional panel, urging a recommendation that Vietnam be returned to the list of the world's worst violators of religious liberty.
