Jesse Jackson has, in the last couple of decades, faithfully followed the Democrat Party's line on abortion; namely, decry it (in principle) as a tragic, difficult matter but (in practice) champion abortion rights as a wonderful, indispensable part of our Constitutional heritage.
Therefore, Jackson has fought vengefully against every measure that might, in some degree, protect fetal life. He has forcefully opposed even parental notification and informed consent laws. He has defended partial birth abortion and agreed that coercive penalties be meted out to those medical professionals whose consciences cannot allow participation in such heinous acts as abortion.
Jesse Jackson has become the penultimate pro-abortion advocate.
But...it wasn't always that way.
