Our good friend Quint Coppi absolutely loves listening to Handel's "Messiah." Indeed, when Christmas comes round, it constantly blasts out of his CD players both at home and on the road. His enthusiasm moved Claire and I to go and take in a performance of the piece at the Holland Center a couple of years ago and we finally understood Quint's passion for the music...and the texts.
I passed on to Quint last night a book about Christmas carols that had a fascinating chapter about Handel and this great work. And now this morning I'll pass along to him another nice piece on the "Messiah" from the
Bellingham Herald.
