It’s election season and Democratic Congressmen are talking a good game on cutting spending, but giving over one-and-half billion dollars to urban gang rehabilitation centers for such things as tattoo removals won’t convince many voters they’re serious...Voters having a hard time making the mortgage payment or finding a job will likely be less than thrilled that another chunk of their hard-earned tax dollars is being funneled down another rat hole.
Judicial Watch, who is tracking the bill further states, “The infusion is necessary because budget cuts have forced groups like Homeboy Industries to stop paying gang members to attend work training sessions and carry out maintenance work at centers that offer them a variety of free perks. Some do administrative jobs to help out, but they still get regular checks.”
Democrats, who control Congress, are terrified of the coming election–as they should be. With the biggest issues concerning voters being the deficit, jobs and the economy, bills such as this one aren’t going to do much to convince voters Congress means business about how they’re spending taxpayers’ money.
