How's That "Change Thing" Working Out, Mr. President?

Here's a quick scan of the morning news to illustrate just a few of those infamous changes Team Obama has brought about. (And please remember, the Big O didn't do this all on his own, so give appropriate credit to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Ben Nelson and the rest of the Democrat cast and crew that have put us in these messes.)

* From the AP: "Lack of confidence in the economic recovery led employers to shed a more-than-expected 85,000 jobs in December even as the unemployment rate held at 10 percent. The rate would have been higher if more people had been looking for work instead of leaving the labor force because they can't find jobs."

* Concerning the secret, backroom deals that are going on with the health care boondoggle bill and the ugly contradiction it makes to the repeated promises of candidate Barack Obama that he would put the negotitiations on C-SPAN (a story that is making a splash even with some in the MSM), John Hinderaker at Power Line writes -- "'That was then, this is now--sucker!' That could serve as the epitaph of the Obama administration."

* Michael Gerson's op-ed column in the Washington Post makes a compelling case that the numerous security failures we've seen in recent months in the war waged by Islamic terrorists on the peace and security of the West are directly related to the listless, mismanaged, and woefully naive policies of President Obama.

* "Not only did U.S. consumer bankruptcies jump by nearly a third in 2009, but bankruptcy analysts expect matters to worsen again in 2010 as the deepest economic downturn since the Great Depression continues to work its way through American households.Consumer bankruptcy filings exceeded 1.4 million last year compared with 1.06 million in 2008, an increase of 32 percent." (Washington Times report.)

* From CNN Money: "Gas prices have shot up 7 cents in just the past week and are now higher than they were during any point in 2009."
