Unpleasant Tales from American Academia

Here's a couple of items fresh from America's universities, neither one of which is very surprising but both being pretty distressing. The first concerns the overwhelming preponderance of politically liberal professors (even in Texas) and the second describes the brave but losing battle one Virginia professor is waging against the ongoing "dumbing down" of academic standards.
