We've been back at work here in Nebraska for a couple of weeks (following the death of my Mom, her funeral in Colorado, and a few days of family gatherings there in our beloved home state), but we are only today starting back into the regular rota of "When Swing Was King."
Well, regular isn't exactly the right word for it because July already shows a few new venues in which we will present our delightful package of big band music, photographs from the 1930s and 1940s, and interesting commentary about the sights and sounds they're experiencing. Today, for instance, we will be at the assisted living side of Skyline Manor and we're really looking forward to it.
Plus there's no better solace for an old soul than music. And since I turned 60 yesterday, I'm more than ready. Strike up the band, boys.
