Obama Expresses His Envy of Communist Dictator

The New York Times reports that Barack Obama, dithering over what to say and do about Libya, " has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, 'No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.'"

This is absolutely amazing. Barack Obama is an American President who has failed to stand up for American interests, who began his tenure with international "apology tours," who has repeatedly dissed our democratic allies while bowing to kings and sheiks, who has praised dictators while ignoring his responsibilities to champion human rights, and who has served as a model of cowardly appeasement as foreign countries buy up America.

And now he's whining to his staff that he envies Hu Jintao because the Communist dictator doesn't have to worry about the press, an opposition party, or the expectations of people across the globe -- people who naturally expect America's president to stand up for justice and freedom.

There is so much in Obama's complaint that is disheartening, so much that reveals how different are the capabilities and the character of this president than all others who have gone before (including even the hapless egotist Jimmy Carter) that I can only say one thing.

I wish Barack Obama was the president of China too.
