In a few minutes, Claire and I are heading off to Life Care Center to try out our newest "Mercy Ministries" outreach. It's a thing we're calling (for now)"Big Band and More" and it involves an hour of big band music, a little trivia from the WVS disc jockey and over two hundred images projected onto a screen that go with the tunes.Given our limitations with technology, it is a pretty ambitious task for us. We've had to try and get a grip on a Power Point computer program, a special projector system (with screen), new speakers and a microphone set to a separate speaker altogether.
We thought we were well ahead in the game until we started plugging things in last night. Uh oh. We found ourselves in a mess that has required a sleepless night to try and overcome. We think we've got it and are now praying it all works, that we stay awake long enough to present it, and that it proves enjoyable to the residents of the nursing home.
