Matt Yonke over at the Pro-Life Action League points out that when the New York Times describes Democrats as "cautiously optimistic" about passing the Burris Amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (an amendment that would allow the killing of preborn children in U.S. military hospitals), that means "they’re in a position of weakness." Thus, the time is ripe to toss this dishonorable amendment on the trash heap where it belongs.
Matt rightly urges, "That’s why it’s so important that you call, e-mail and write your senators today and tell them to oppose the Burris Amendment. As it has so many times before, a groundswell of pro-lifers like you contacting your senators could stop this amendment and keep our military hospitals free of abortion."
For more details (including the description of corrupt Illinois Senator Roland Burris' desperate desire "to put his name on something before his, likely brief, career as a senator is over"), see the call to action on the League's website. Let's move on this quickly.
