Among the whoppers that Nancy Pelosi is telling to desperately persuade Congressmen to vote for the health care "reform" bill is that it will create up to 400,000 jobs. But the Americans for Tax Reform Foundation today released a study conducted by the Beacon Hill Institute that has a remarkably different conclusion. Indeed, that 18-page study shows that in the following decade this bill would lead to a loss of jobs, not a gain.
And a terribly costly loss at that -- 700,000.
And among those jobs lost may, quite likely, be your doctor!
A recent physician survey conducted by the New England Journal of Medicine suggested that 46.3% of primary care physicians believe "the passing of health reform will either force them out of medicine or make them want to leave medicine." In addition, 24% of those physicians answering the survey "will try to retire early if a public option is implemented."
Because the NEJM is a reliably liberal publication, the editors didn't much appreciate those answers and have since tried to hide them away (see this post at Health Care BS) but it was a bit too late. But these facts still need a lot more airing.
That's up to us.
