Dear Denny,Hello! My name is Rebekah Weigel and I co-wrote and co-produced "The Butterfly Circus" with my husband Josh who is also the director. We are so glad you enjoyed "The Butterfly Circus" and are helping us to promote it! The "rumor" that it would only be online for one day was because it had an on-line "premiere" for one day on August 31st.
The film was made for The Doorpost Film Project and each of the ten films had one day in the spotlight before the voting began. Voting is going on until September 16th and then they will announce the winner. We would love help promoting the film and garnering votes.
We have had a very enthusiastic response so far and are hoping to turn it into a full length feature film. The film will be online for at least a year. It is an answer to many prayers to hear the reports of the many people who are being touched by the film.

If it's okay, I'll post your note on Vital Signs Blog tomorrow along with my own encouragement for people to go view it and vote for it. "The Butterfly Circus" was a most compelling, beautiful and spiritually provocative film. Its lessons about the sanctity, the dignity and the wonder of each human life were both challenging and uplifting. And, perhaps as persuasive as any virtue the film portrays, was its sense of joyful liberation. "The Butterfly Circus" is truly an amazing work of cinematic art.
My wife Claire (along with several of the Vital Signs Ministries team who viewed it) send along our deepest admiration and appreciation to you and your husband. "The Butterfly Circus" is a grand achievement as it is -- but we will indeed pray for everything necessary to expand it.

Now...back to Denny. So, here's the deal, guys. 1) Like I did earlier this week, I strongly urge you to watch "The Butterfly Circus." I think you'll find it everything I mentioned above -- inspiring, beautiful, soaringly hopeful. 2) Please pray for those involved in the film, especially the Weigels. Ask our Lord to give them favor, discernment and all that they need to make "The Butterfly Circus" a rousing success.
3) And here's the tough part...the voting process that Rebekah mentions in her note. In order to vote for "The Butterfly Circus" in the contest (which involves rating the film in 7 categories), you must not only go through a sign up/log in process but then watch and vote on each film in the contest. Though they are 20 minutes in length (or shorter), that's still ten films in all!
Frankly, I understand that's too much for most of you -- it's too much for most anyone. However, that means that the few of you who do undertake the challenge (and I know there are some true film buffs reading this) will have a chance of making a real difference in the contest results.
Plus, you'll find yourself entertained and moved by many of the other films in the contest. I know, I watched them.
So what d'ya say? I believed in "The Butterfly Circus" enough to go through the long (but ultimately rewarding) process. You might too.
