Here's today's "must-read" -- a stirring, intriguing commentary which we could only hope every member of Congress would pay some heed to. It does, after all, come from one of their own, Congressman Davy Crockett.
Please read this remarkable piece of American history, certainly as relevant right now as it was when Colonel Crockett spoke about it in the 1830's.
(This excerpt, by the way, was taken from The Life of Colonel David Crockett by Edward Sylvester Ellis. Ellis' book was originally published in 1884 but it used liberally Crockett's own autobiography from 1833.)
