The trashy, ramshackle building that houses Leroy Carhart's Abortion and Contraception Clinic in Bellevue caught fire early this morning. It was put out rather quickly with physical damage seemingly limited to the unkempt basement garage.Here's the story from the OWH.
If the newspaper would only show a few pictures of the building, it might well keep prospective clients away from the place. For a darker, dingier, more dangerous-looking place for a medical procedure, you could hardly imagine. As one of my friends said when we were sidewalk counseling earlier this week, "Can you imagine bringing your wife or girlfriend to this run-down shack? Man, I wouldn't bring my dog here!"
