It's not too late to get in on Operation Christmas Child, the terrific gospel outreach sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.A week ago yesterday Claire explained to our little church (Faith Bible, 1555 S 27th Street, Sunday service at 10:30) how the OCC program works, our enthusiastic support of it, how to pack the Christmas boxes, etc. And she invited anyone who could to participate in this neat outreach with us to please do so.
Result? 9 splendidly-packed Christmas boxes came in on Sunday with promises of several more to be brought in next week! One of the guys couldn't get round to packing a box but he gave a generous donation to help in the project instead. For a church of our size and for the modest financial resources of most of the members, this was very cool indeed. They're a great bunch and I am really honored to serve as the preacher there.
