Words for Today...And Every Day

Ralph Aldrich sent me an item this morning saying, "Friends, I received this from a friend and I think this is especially important for today."

I agree. It was, is and will always be an important reminder. And so I gratefully pass it along to you.

With so much pressing against us (America's financial woes, the audacious actions of the MSM to put an abortion-enthusiastic socialist into the White House, the ever-increasing threat of Islamic terrorism, the extending shadows of persecution of Christians stretching over the world, the shaky-knees cowardice of the "postmodern" Church, and so on), these are solid and eternal truths to firmly embrace.

As everything seems to be chaotic and in turmoil these days, I found this quote from Corrie Ten Boom to be an awesome word for us today. I hope you're blessed by it, and by the Word of our faithful God below it.

"Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength-- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength."

Furthermore, the Lord Jesus Christ speaks to us from Matthew 6:25-34: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Jesus also tells us: "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

May God bless us with His peace as we keep our eyes upon Him and rest in His love and faithfulness.
