Patricia Roeder hasn't written an op/ed column for the Truth, an Elkhart County, Indiana newspaper for awhile now. As a high school senior at Goshen High School, she's a little busy with other matters: school, working on scholarships, applying to colleges, and so on. In fact, she was so occupied with other things she decided she wouldn't write for the newspaper until "something incredibly irritating or major happened."An Associated Press story about the STD rate among teenagers did it. And, as you'll see in Patricia's response, she has a clearer, healthier picture of the issue than do most of the so-called experts in the field.
It's a spirited, effective argument for chastity that Patricia writes, a splendid piece to hand to your kids and grandkids. It's a great one also to send over to your pastor and youth pastor. Check it out right here.
