From the "With Friends Like These..." department comes this report of Rosie O'Donnell coming to the defense of Rev. Jeremiah Wright on the "Today" show Monday. He "made sense to me," O'Donnell said. She compared herself to Wright, saying "some people confuse passion for rage" and even stuck up for Wright's views about a racist conspiracy behind the origin of AIDS.
"There is a place in the world [for] an inspirational, liberational [sic] kind of preaching that Reverend Wright does."
Perhaps. But there's certainly no place for it in a national election, thus the disowning (finally) of Wright's pronouncements by his parishioner and friend, Barack Obama.
