Iowa State Prof Wants Chapel Cross, Star of David Removed

In keeping with the now commonly expressed belief by progressive thinkers that no religion is preferable to those upon which Western civilization is founded, an Iowa State "assistant professor of curriculum and instruction" is working for the removal of a wooden cross which has been displayed in the school's Memorial Union chapel since the early 1950s. He also wants the Star of David and a menorah depicted in stained glass to be taken away.

So far the administration hasn't fallen for the idea but the professor isn't dismayed. As the school newspaper reported, "As far as his other personal plans to make the public aware of such issues, Blumenfeld plans to continue to teach understanding and acceptance of the change of historical meanings for a more accepting future."

Hmm.

Dreaming of "a more accepting future" while working for an intolerant present? Oh yeah, this guy's "assistant professor of curriculum and instruction" material alright.
