The Lutheran's increasingly liberal wing, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is meeting this week in Chicago and among other things, it is continuing its "conversation" on human sexuality, including "the place of gay and lesbian people in ministry." Rev. Mark S. Hanson, the ELCA presiding bishop who was overwhelmingly re-elected to the office this week, said yesterday, "We are still in the process of developing our social statement on human sexuality."
Hmm. Still in process? Didn't, in fact, God already communicate His "social statement on human sexuality"? Does Rev. Hanson and his confused brethren really think they can come up with something better than He Who created humans in the first place? And, yes, created them male and female?
