China Bans "Crude and Insensitive" Population Control Slogans...But Not "Crude and Insensitive" Population Control Policy!

In another example of Communist China trying to pretty itself up for the Olympics (better to say, trying to hide its true character from the eyes of the world), Alexa Olesen, reporting for the Associated Press, explains that China's National Population and Family Planning Commission has decided to ban a few of the more "crude and insensitive slogans" which it has previously used to promote the country's brutal one-child-only policy.

Among the banned (for awhile, at least) slogans:

"Raise fewer babies but more piggies."

"One more baby means one more tomb."

"Houses toppled, cows confiscated, if abortion demand rejected."

Oh yes, the coercive planning commission is coming out with a list of 190 slogans that are acceptable. Among them is this gem: "Mother earth is too tired to sustain more children."

Right. I think what Mother Earth may really be tired of is the viciousness, injustice, corruption, environmental havoc, sneakiness, and all-around thuggery of Communism.
