The all-time high abortion figure of 193,700 for Great Britain you quote in your blog was actually the number of abortions on England and Wales residents. Add the number of abortions carried out in on non-residents (for instance people who come from the Republic of Ireland, where abortion is illegal, and the few from the rest of Europe where restrictions are tighter) and the figure for abortions carried out in England and Wales was 201,173. Add the 13,081 abortions carried out in Scotland, and the correct total for abortions in the United Kingdom was 214,254.
