Good Friday and Easter: What's the Big Deal?

Here's a quick review of a few valuable reflections on the historical events (and the spiritual significance) of Good Friday and Easter.

Best-selling novelist Randy Alcorn has a couple of compelling comments as does Steve Cable from Probe Ministries in this longer article. Chuck Colson's Breakpoint program about Good Friday can be listened to (or read from transcript) from this page. And here are a few stimulating sermons about Easter left us by pastor and Greek scholar, the late J. Hampton Keathley, III: The Miracles of Calvary; The Resurrection of Jesus Christ; Evidences for the Resurrection; and False Theories Against the Resurrection of Christ.

Bible Study Planet has several splendid resources in connection with Easter including Melito of Sardis' famous God Has Been Murdered, The Earth Trembles, His Agony and Our Access by Oswald Chambers, and Charles Spurgeon's The Veil Has Been Torn. There are many other fine selections there too.

And, perhaps even more than Christmas, Easter has engendered tremendous hostility from naturalists and other obscurantists. This article by Brian Fitzpatrick relates how dedicated the MSM has been in recent days in trying to undermine the importance (even the actuality) of Easter.
