The good news for "Big Government Republicans" is, of course, very, very bad news for the future of America. This piece by Tony Snow gives a few of the details -- Medicare paying 95% of the (unfair and astronimcal) drug costs of the elderly and a 17% growth in welfare costs (though the population increase is at 5%).But it doesn't have to be this way. Ronald Reagan's dream of smaller government CAN be achieved. Indeed, it MUST be if the future of democracy and justice is to survive.
