A professor of economics at Yale and George Mason University writing about love, sex and marriage? Why not? Academicians fall in love too. Economists get married. And sex? Well, those baby intellectuals are coming from somewhere, right?Actually, the professor in question here is Jennifer Roback Morse so her qualifications to comment cogently and compellingly on these matters are impeccable. Dr. Morse is an accomplished scholar, author and cultural critic whose work at the above universities as well as at the Hoover Institution has been first-rate. However, in her new book, Smart Sex: Finding Life-long Love in a Hook-up World, she writes from keen personal experience too as a successful wife and mother. (Her kids, by the way, come, respectively, via birth, adoption and foster care. Cool.)
In a very interesting interview from National Review Online, Kathryn Lopez discusses with Dr. Morse a few of the key tenets of the book. I'd suggest you give it a read.
