Dear President Biden,

Come on, man!

Get started on a critical reset of American government, business, and social ethics ASAP.

How? You can begin with these 7 steps.

1) Stop your detestable promotion of the violent evil of abortion.

2) Start protecting the national borders.

3) Turn loose American ingenuity, entrepreneurship, and hard work to solve our energy crisis. (And you can begin this campaign by turning on the pipeline! )

4) Get the U.S. military back to full strength for its mission of protecting America – not for the foolish business of politically-correct sensitivity training.

5) Cut off the counter-productive cronyism between your administration and the teachers’ unions, Big Tech and Big Pharma, the would-be tyrants of the Deep State, and the rest of the "blame America first" crowd.

 

6) Stop wasting money!

And, for goodness sake,

7) Stop printing money!

Please, Mr. President, before it's too late for America, begin governing rightly.

The Great Divide

...I also believe it is entirely rational to fear the possibility of a major Ebola outbreak, of a threat to the president and his family, of jihadists crossing the border, of a large-scale European or Asian war, of nuclear proliferation, of terrorists detonating a weapon of mass destruction. These dangers are real, and pressing, and though the probability of their occurrence is not high, it is amplified by the staggering incompetence and failure and misplaced priorities of the U.S. government. It is not Ebola I am afraid of. It is our government’s ability to deal with Ebola.

Over the last few years the divergence between what the government promises and what it delivers, between what is says is happening or will happen and what actually is happening and does happen, between what it determines to be important and what the public wishes to be important—this gap has become abysmal, unavoidable, inescapable. We hear of “lone-wolf” terrorism, of “workplace violence,” that if you like your plan you can keep your plan. We are told that Benghazi was a spontaneous demonstration, that al Qaeda is on the run, that the border is secure as it has ever been, that I didn’t draw a red line, the world drew a red line, that the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups involved not a smidgen of corruption. We see the government spend billions on websites that do not function, and the VA consign patients to death by waiting list and then cover it up. We are assured that Putin won’t invade; that the Islamic State is the jayvee team of terrorism; that Bowe Bergdahl served with honor and distinction; that there is a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

While the public remains pro-Israel, our government negotiates with Israel’s enemies. While the public wants to reduce immigration, the preeminent legislative objective of both parties is a bill that would increase it. While the public is uninterested in global warming, while costly regulations could not pass a filibuster-proof Democratic Senate, while the scientific consensus behind the green agenda is, at the very least, fraying, the president says that climate change is the greatest threat to the United States. While Americans tell pollsters their economic situation has not improved, and that things are headed in the wrong direction—while even Democratic economists acknowledge the despondent state of the middle class—the president travels to Chicago to celebrate his economic recovery.

These disjunctions and confusions, these missteps, scandals, and miscalculations, have hurt Obama’s approval numbers. They endanger the Democratic Senate majority, contribute to the widespread sense of disorder and decay, shatter trust in government and in public institutions. They have put into stark relief a political class dominated by liberal partisans, captured by ideas and interests removed from those of ordinary Americans. The stories of ineptitude or malfeasance that appear in the daily newspaper are more than examples of high ideals executed poorly. They are examples of the pursuit of ideas—of equality and diversity and progress and centralization and environmentalism and globalization—to absurd and self-destructive limits…

California (Bad) Dreamin'

Among the bills that California's loony left Governor Jerry Brown has just signed into law are these three:

1. Illegal Immigrants Can Drive Legally.

2. Non-Doctors Can Administer First-Trimester Abortions.

3. Children Can Have More Than Two Parents of Any Gender Combination.

Way back in the 70's, Christian apologist and teacher Francis Schaeffer frequently used the term "stupid-wicked" to describe how immorality and rebellion against the Creator God inevitably leads to irrational, self-damaging actions.

How on earth could he describe how far we've gone down that road since then?

Uh, How's That "Fundamental Transformation" of America Thing Going?

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” (Barack Obama, October 30, 2008)

“We are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.” (Michelle Obama, May 14, 2008)

There certainly is no question that Barack Obama wants to change the United States. And there clearly is no doubt that such fundamental transformation is difficult, given our tripartite system of government — even though Obama entered office with large Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress, an enthralled media, and a closely divided Supreme Court.

So to what degree, after nearly five years in office, has Obama succeeded in changing the United States?

Democrats Are "The Party of Disappointment"

Louisiana state senator Elbert Guillory switched parties on May 31, becoming the first black Republican in the Louisiana legislature since Reconstruction.

At a conference hosted by @large, an organization that aims “to inspire, motivate, and encourage black conservatives to get involved in politics and build a constituency within their communities,” Guillory called the Democrats the “party of disappointment,” citing its support for social and economic policies that have hurt black communities. He also noted his increasing distaste for the party’s positions on abortion and immigration and its handling of the Benghazi scandal.

When it comes to precedents for his decision, Guillory noted one particularly well-known black right-winger: “I am as of this day joining Frederick Douglass as a Republican.”

That’s pretty good company.

More Intimidation from Eric Holder's DOJ

The Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General published a new report Monday that confirms former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke leaked a document intended to smear Operation Fast and Furious scandal whistleblower John Dodson...

In addition to Burke’s involvement in leaking the document, emails the IG uncovered show senior officials at the Department of Justice discussed smearing Dodson.

One of those was Tracy Schmaler, the Director of the Department’s Office of Public Affairs, who resigned her position at the DOJ after emails uncovered through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request showed that she worked with leftwing advocacy group Media Matters for America to smear whistleblowers and members of Congress and the media who sought to investigate DOJ scandals under Attorney General Eric Holder.

U.S. Court Rejects Homeschooling Family's Plea for Asylum (What's Next?)

Fox News reporter Todd Starnes relates the bad news:

The U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Obama Administration’s decision to deny asylum to a German homeschooling family.

The Romeike family fled their German homeland in 2008 seeking political asylum in the United States – where they hoped to home school their children. Instead, the Obama administration wants the evangelical Christian family deported.

An Immigration judge granted them asylum in 2010 after the family revealed they were facing criminal prosecution for homeschooling their children. That decision was later overturned by the Board of Immigration Appeals in 2012.

The court ruled today that the Romeikes had not made a sufficient case and that the United States has not opened its doors to every victim of unfair treatment...

Michael Farris, founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association, vowed to appeal the decision.

“Germany continues to persecute homeschoolers,” said Mike Donnelly, the HSLDA’s director of international affairs. “The court ignored mountains of evidence that homeschoolers are harshly fined and that custody of their children is gravely threatened—something most people would call persecution. This is what the Romeikes will suffer if they are sent back to Germany.” 

The Justice Dept. is arguing that German law banning home schooling does not violate the family’s human rights.

“They are trying to send a family back to Germany where they would certainly lose custody of their children,” Farris told Fox News. “Our government is siding with Germany.”

Farris said the Germans ban home schools because “they don’t want to have religious and philosophical minorities in their country.”

“That means they don’t want to have significant numbers of people who think differently than what the government thinks,” he said. “It’s an incredibly dangerous assertion that people can’t think in a way that the government doesn’t approve of.”…

Farris said he finds great irony that the Obama administration is releasing thousands of illegal aliens – yet wants to send a family seeking political asylum back to Germany.

“Eleven million people are going to be allowed to stay freely – but this one family is going to be shipped back to Germany to be persecuted,” he said. “It just doesn’t make any sense.”…

What can we do now?

1) Of course, pray for the appeal to be successful. And pray for a restoration of sanity in our nation's immigration policy, one that rewards immigrants who love America for its values as well as its opportunities, a policy that welcomes immigrants who are able and willing to add to the nation's economic strength rather than take from it.

And 2) you might even consider sending along a contribution to the HSLDA to help them in their effort to secure protection for the Romeike family.

Want to Avoid Discrimination Charges? Simple. Translate Everything.

A group of Hispanic custodians at the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver are claiming they are victims of discrimination…Ribota said she was injured at work because she couldn’t read a warning sign that was in English. “If I could speak English I wouldn’t have the problems that exist,” said Ribota.

[The dripping irony of that statement is apparently missed completely by Ribota and her lawyers.)

The Auraria Campus believes employees should understand some basic English. “It’s not our goal to provide every document translated or every conversation translated. Our employees are expected to interact with members of the public and that interaction we expect them to be able to understand English,” said Nickeson.

The EEOC could take several weeks to review the case. If they find actual damages the Department of Justice would get involved.

One wonders to what extent the forces of political correctness will take this principle? Should everything be translated? For instance, is a newspaper or magazine guilty of racism, discrimination or ethnocentrism if it fails to provide articles and ads in both Spanish and English? Indeed, why stop at two languages? One doesn't want to be charged with discrimination against those who speak Chinese, Russian, or Farsi, right?

Should we switch everything over to Esperanto?

Perhaps common sense will one day enter the arena and English will return as the standard for the United States -- with immigrants expected to learn the language. That's not only best for national unity and efficiency, but for the social and prosperity interests of the immigrants themselves.
